Textures, textures and more textures are smoking hot for this summer’s look. So be brave, be bold and embrace fringing, tassels and feathers. These can all be found on cushions, throws, rugs and wall hangings. Having the skill to layer these elements, will put any would be interior designer, at the top of the class and add a homely, cosy feel to any interior.
Sugary sweet colours are proving to be a huge trend in both interiors and fashion this year. Combine pinks, mint greens and powder blues and create the perfect palette of sugary colours. Use pastel colours for feature walls or the whole room, if you’re feeling brave??!!? Accessorise with colourful tableware, cushions, rugs and even chairs. Add a touch of gold here and there with knobs, lamp bases and mirrors. Most importantly, have fun and experiment with pastels shades, the more the merrier.
Geometrics are still a big deal in 2018 but they are evolving. 2017 geometrics were mainly seen as an accessory, displayed on cushions and rugs. But in 2018 they are becoming more dominant in our homes and making their way onto larger surfaces. Now you’ll see more and more geometrics on tiles, fabrics, wallpapers and wall art.
Greenery is a must have for any on trend interior. Cheese plants, Dragon trees, succulents, ferns and cactus, really anything goes and they don’t even have to be real. If you’re like me and you have the ability to drown a succulent within weeks of buying a perfectly healthy plant, then go faux. The high street has an abundance of faux plant opinions and so you’ll be spoilt for choice.
There are so many on trend, fun interior options for the summer of 2018, far too many to mention. But the key is to be bold, layer and accessorise.
